Welcome to Fouetté Academy of Classical Ballet, an internationally recognized ballet school dedicated to the highest standards of classical dance education. Our Academy is rooted in the Vaganova method — the world-renowned system of ballet training developed in Russia, known for its emphasis on technical precision, expressive artistry, and methodical progression.
At Fouetté, students are guided by qualified Vaganova pedagogues, all of whom hold diplomas in classical ballet pedagogy from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (FCUM) – one of Poland’s foremost institutions for professional dance education.
Artistic Leadership – Professor Beata Książkiewicz, PhD
Our founder and Artistic Director, Professor Beata Książkiewicz, PhD, is a distinguished graduate of GITIS Moscow (State Institute of Theatre Arts) and an internationally respected expert in ballet pedagogy and choreography. During studies at the Theatre Arts Institute in Moscow, Department of Ballet Pedagogy and Choreography, where she was taught by outstanding professors – Raisa Struchkova, Tamara Turchina and Tamara Tkachenko.She is a senior lecturer and Head of the Dance Department at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (FCUM) in Warsaw, where she teaches:
- Ballet Pedagogy
- Artistic Dance and Didactics – Early School Stage
- Historical Dance, Methodics of Historical Dance
- Characteristic Dance, Methodics of Character Dance
Professor Książkiewicz is also the author of academic curricula for these subjects at FCUM. Her teaching combines scholarly depth, choreographic artistry, and a deep commitment to the Vaganova tradition, which she passes on to future generations of dancers and educators. Together with the university she co-founded the International Scientific and Artistic Conference „Education in the art of dance”
To bring her long-time dreams into life, she founded The “Fouetté” School of Dance and Ballet in Poznań, which was opened on 10 November 1997. Which, since 2016 is recognized by Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland – main governmental body that supervises accredited ballet schools in Poland.
Global Dance Initiatives
Professor Beata is the originator and co-founder of the International Young Dancers’ Festival, an annual event promoting ballet and cultural exchange among young dancers worldwide. Since its first edition in Denmark (2004), the festival has been hosted in multiple countries and is accompanied by the International Symposium on Dance Promotion for Children and Youth for professional pedagogues and dance teachers. The event brings together ballet schools from around the world, creating a global network of collaboration, inspiration, and artistic growth.
